The University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) is used specifically to help universities with the selection of students into medicine, dentistry and some clinical science degree programs at undergraduate level.
The test helps universities to select applicants with the most appropriate mental abilities, attitudes and professional behaviours required for new doctors and dentists to be successful in their clinical careers. It is used in collaboration with other admission processes such as interviews and academic qualifications. It does not measure academic knowledge.
You’ll need to register for UCAT ANZ from March to May and successfully sit the test in July. Your UCAT ANZ results will then be released to the University in September.
The UCAT scores will determine a ranked list for interview. The level of achievement the University requires will vary each year, determined by the performance of all applicants competing for a place in the Joint Program in Medicine course and will not be disclosed.
