This research project aims to explore the mental health experiences of trans and gender diverse people who have undergone phalloplasty in Australia.
10-12 participants will be recruited via a social media post in the Facebook group 'Phallo AU' and email to member health professionals of the Australian Professional Association for Transgender Health. Following consenting, basic demographic data will be obtained from participants and each participant will take part in a recorded and transcribed semi-structured interview. Participants will receive a $50 Woolworths voucher as an acknowledgement of their contribution to the research. Data will be analysed and findings presented in a relevant and reputable peer reviewed academic journal, at a conference and in an MD research project report.
