Catherine completed a BSc at the University of Sydney with Honours in genetics, followed by a PhD in molecular plant pathology from University of Cambridge, UK.

She returned to Australia and has spent her career largely with Global corporates in various roles across applied science, human molecular diagnostics and human genetics portfolios, as well time with the Australian Genome Research Facility focussing on the expansion and genomics services to the research community in NSW.

She moved with her family from Sydney to Orange 6 years ago, and has developed a strong passion to participate in improvements to rural health outcomes. She joins the SRM in the role of Senior Lecturer / Senior Research fellow in Medicine and hopes to bring her strong research and analytical skills, experience mentoring and stakeholder engagement to this role.
