Sonia began her medical career in the United States where she received her MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch and then went on to complete a family practice residency in Omaha, Nebraska.  After completing residency with a focus on rural proceduralist practice, she provided locums services to doctors in the rural Midwest before taking on a position as one of two doctors in a women’s and children’s hospital in Pakistan.

Sonia moved to Australia and worked in Gunnedah NSW and completed her RACGP fellowship.  She returned to Pakistan where she provided medical services to people in her local community while raising a young family.  Since moving to Orange, Sonia has been out of clinical practice while home-schooling one of her children.  She’s also involved in mental health advocacy as a Mental Health Official Visitor.
