Horse boarding

Charles Sturt University students can board (agist) their horse at our deluxe facility for a daily cost of $7 including a shared paddock and stable. Demand is high and there is often a waitlist, be sure to get your name down early to avoid disappointment.

Inclusions

  • Stable.
  • Shared paddock turn-out.
  • Tack and feed storage area.
  • Use of all facilities.
  • Undercover horse walker
  • Wash bays with hot water

Costs

  • Boarding costs $7 per day.
  • Float parking is available for an annual fee of $50.
  • A small number of private day yards are available for an additional $2 per day for those who do not want to use the shared student paddocks.

All charges go onto your student account at the end of the month.

Requirements

To board your horse at the Equine Centre, you:

  • can only one horse at a time (stallions and colts are not allowed)
  • must provide your own feed
  • are fully responsible for the feeding, care and exercise of your horse
  • providing feed/water buckets
  • must be an Equestrian Australia member or hold equal comparable insurance.
  • must deworm and vaccinate your horse for tetanus and strangles before arriving.
  • must provide stable bedding. We have shavings available at the Equine Centre for $15 per bale.

Shared paddocks consist of mares with mares and geldings with geldings.

When you can ride

You should check our events calendar and if our facilities aren't privately booked, you will be able to ride, even under the lights at night.
