Support local students and existing staff to become diagnostic radiographers while strengthening their connection to your organisation and community.
Discuss a partnershipThis proposed workforce and clinical education partnership brings Charles Sturt University and clinical placement providers together to support future diagnostic radiographers.
Your organisation selects suitable students through a competitive process and provides agreed clinical placements across participating services. Together, we plan a pathway that reflects your workforce priorities and supports students to meet their course requirements.
Create opportunities for local students and existing staff interested in a diagnostic radiography career.
Agree on student numbers, placement capacity and clinical experiences that suit your organisation.
Help students build relationships with your team and community while developing their clinical skills.
FIRST YEAR
Students study on campus and begin clinical placements during their first year.
FROM SECOND YEAR
Students study online and attend compulsory on-campus practical intensives. Selected students can live in the region and undertake most agreed placement blocks across your services.
Where separately employed by your organisation, students may also work in an assistant role alongside their studies.
Students must gain experience across different clinical settings to meet course and accreditation requirements.
Students primarily placed with a private provider must complete at least one placement in a public hospital, and vice versa.
Your organisation may help source this placement, or Charles Sturt’s Workplace Learning team can arrange it.
Meet with Charles Sturt to discuss workforce priorities, placement capacity and the pathway that suits your organisation.
Confirm student numbers, participating sites, clinical experiences and responsibilities. Finalise the Letter of Agreement and Student Placement Agreement before recruitment begins.
Your organisation interviews applicants through a competitive process, selects suitable candidates and communicates the outcomes.
Recruitment targets first-year students already enrolled at Charles Sturt.
Recruitment occurs before university application deadlines. Selected candidates receive a partnership support letter and apply through the normal admission process.
Candidates who meet all published entry and application requirements receive a guaranteed course offer under the approved pathway.
Contact Charles Sturt to discuss your placement capacity and available clinical experiences. Shared placement arrangements or collaboration with other services can be explored. Any arrangement needs to support the breadth of experience required by the course.
Employment arrangements are agreed separately between the provider and student. Where a provider employs a student, placement should normally occur at another site, with an external supervisor, or under another arrangement agreed with Charles Sturt to manage conflicts of interest.
No. Charles Sturt confirms admission or enrolment status and placement eligibility. The 2027 pathway targets students already enrolled in first year. Under the proposed 2028 entry pathway, selected candidates must apply through the normal admission process and meet all published entry and application requirements.
Providers raise performance or safety concerns promptly with Charles Sturt. The university and provider work together to address performance or progression concerns. Supervisor support needs can be discussed when planning the partnership.
Let’s discuss your workforce needs, placement capacity and next steps.
