Patricia Logan began her career as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist working for over 20 years in large metropolitan and regional hospitals as well as private practice. She undertook a biology degree at Macquarie University to broaden her skills. Patricia's introduction to university teaching began at the University of Sydney in Nuclear Medicine.

Patricia completed her research Master’s with the University of Sydney and her PhD with the Charles Sturt Faculty of Education. She has been employed with Charles Sturt since the inception of the Dubbo Campus undertaking various roles as the campus developed. Research interests include: Parkinson’s Disease, tertiary education in health science, health practitioner wellbeing, patient safety. Patricia can now be found on the Bathurst Campus.

  • Pathophysiology and Pharmacology 1 and 2,
  • Applied Cardiovascular Physiology, and
  • BMS301 Special Topics – supervising students interested in aspects of health professional practice, education for health practitioners, rural and remote health.

Enrolled nurse transition: development of a university preparation program for direct entry to 2nd year.

Research

Patricia undertakes research in areas of health science practice and tertiary science education. She is a member of the Aging Well Research Group.  She supervisors research students and has mentored  many completed doctoral students.

Current project:

Neurodegenerative conditions in the bush: identifying gaps in needs evidenced by the 45 and Up survey data.
