B.Sc. (hons 1) Anatomy and Zoology, University of Adelaide, 1999. Ph.D. School Animal Studies, University of Queensland, 2008. Rhett completed his BSc at the University of Adelaide, majoring in Anatomy and Zoology. He then went onto do an honours project with Bill Breed in marsupial reproductive biology. This stimulated his interest in working on the conservation of Australian native animals using reproductive technologies. For his PhD project, he investigated the cryopreservation of kangaroo spermatozoa. Dr McClean joined CSU in 2010 as an Associate Lecturer in Physiology and Anatomy in the School of Dentistry and Medical Sciences. Current teaching areas include human anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, and reproductive biology. Rhett has taught in these areas in both human and animal subjects.. Rhett has an interest in many areas including; Mammalian gamete form and function, Sperm-egg interactions and fertilisation, Cryopreservation of sperm, oocytes and embryos, Reproductive technologies (e.g. IVF, ISCI, GIFT), Environmental effects on sperm production and quality, Wildlife reproduction and in Histology; electron microscopy.
