Dr Monique Pointon has a long association with Charles Sturt University, dating back to her undergraduate years in the early 2000s where she studied a Bachelor of Human Movement (Exercise Science & Rehabilitation) in 2005 followed by a Bachelor of Human Movement (Honours) in 2006. In 2011, Monique completed a PhD titled “The effects of cold water immersion on recovery following the demands associated with team sport exercise”. Following completion of her PhD, Monique worked as a research fellow and casual academic at Charles Sturt University for the School of Exercise Science, Sport and Health. Monique is currently a Lecturer in Human Anatomy and Physiology in the School of Dentistry and Medical Sciences.

Dr Pointon’s primary teaching area is in the sub-disciplines of:

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Exercise Science

Dr Pointon’s research interests are investigating the effects of recovery modalities following intense exercise. Specifically, Monique’s primary research area is in the effects of cold water immersion following team sport exercise.

Dr Pointon has presented her research findings at several local, national and international conferences.
