Chris is a registered paramedic with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and lecturer in paramedicine at Charles Sturt University. Chris completed his Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic) with CSU, then worked as an advanced care paramedic II (rescue) in North Queensland before transferring to NSW Ambulance. Prior to becoming a registered paramedic in Australia, Chris served for 15years as a team leader in close personal protection and as a tactical medic throughout Central Asia, Middle East and South Africa.

Chris was a diplomatic close protection team leader for the Australian Ambassador, Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade to Afghanistan in Kabul Afghanistan. He was responsible for providing personal security detail operations, security consulting, security risk mitigation and tactical medicine. Chris has extensive experience in Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) and prolonged field care. One highlight of his career was delivering advanced pre-hospital emergency, non-emergency medical care and specialist transport services to include armoured vehicles, helicopter and fixed-wing aircrafts in high threat and remote environments throughout Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Isreal, South Africa and Philippines.

Chris is an Australian Defence Force veteran who has served with the Australian Army, 2nd Cavalry Regiment in the Middle East on numerous operations conducting long range armoured reconnaissance patrols, intelligence gathering and overwatch security. Chris served in protecting Australia’s borders and offshore maritime interests from threats including, suspected illegal entry vessels, people smuggling, drug interdiction and maritime terrorism.

Chris is a lecturer in paramedicine with CSU in Port Macquarie and is the subject co-ordinator for CLS205 Clinical Simulation. Chris is teaching into CLS105 Foundations of Clinical Practice, CLS404 and CLS405 (Intensive Schools).

Chris has numerous research interests in the tactical medicine space for civilians and first responders, psychology in paramedic practice, paramedic personal security awareness, mental health and resilience.
