B Clin Sc (Paramedicine); B Pharm; PhD candidate Annette started her Paramedic career with the Ambulance Service of New South Wales in 2002, enjoying placements based in city rural and remote locations. During her time, she completed her Bachelor of Clinical Sciences (Paramedicine) with CSU. Annette then went on the study a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) and has worked in community and hospital pharmacies and continues to work as an AHPRA registered Pharmacist. Annette’s education and industry experience in both Paramedicine and Pharmacology, along with a strong passion to educate students to become competent and confident paramedics, has led her to become a lecturer with CSU. Annette also enjoyed working as a group fitness instructor for over 20 years and appreciated being able to share her passion for fitness with many others (and the free gym membership that came with the ‘job’). Annette has coordinated subjects involved in pharmacology and mental health and has taught into other paramedic subjects. Annette is currently a PhD candidate. Annette’s research is focused on a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials regarding the inclusion of exercise as a form of treatment for patients living with chronic kidney disease, including all stages of the disease. Renal parameters, cardiovascular risk factors function, inflammatory markers, functional capacity and quality of life are being reviewed, with the aim of determining the value of exercise to assist both patients and health professionals in forming current best practice and evidence based treatment plans. .Paramedicine
