BA Paramedic Science with distinction Alicia commenced with CSU in 2024 as a casual academic before transferring into lecturing. She completed her Bachelor in Paramedic Science with Distinction in 2014 and is currently completing her Master is Specialist Paramedic Practice (Research). Alicia also works as an operational paramedic in Queensland and has over 10 years on road experience. Alicia has been involved in assisting graduate paramedics in Queensland through their internship programs on-road, running clinical skill stations and simulation scenarios for undergraduate students on placement and junior staff. She has also assisted with residential intensive schools in the University setting. Alicia has a particular interest in burnout and post-traumatic stress disorder. She is interested in pursuing research to understand what interventions are most effective in reducing these conditions amongst paramedics. As a first-time researcher, a requirement of her Masters studies, Alicia recently completed a systematic review on the known strategies to reduce burnout in paramedics, which she hopes to get published. She is currently working towards designing an interventional pilot study with the hope of improving burnout levels of participating paramedics.Paramedicine
