Megan has been a Registered Nurse since 1987 and a Registered Midwife since 2000, with clinical experience across medical-surgical, palliative care/rehabilitation and midwifery settings. Her passion for supporting undergraduate nurses to develop an understanding of the need for evidence-based and culturally competent nursing practice began when she was working in acute care, firstly as a Preceptor, and then as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Megan has been employed at CSU in a range of capacities since 2005, including: academic; research assistant; Clinical Facilitator; HEPPP project tutor; and First Nations Student success tutor. Her main research interest is nurses’ experiences regarding pain management and clinical decision-making.

Megan has taught across all years of the Bachelor of Nursing curriculum, using problem-based learning, face to face simulation and online learning technologies. Her current role will be focused specifically on providing support to the Bachelor of Nursing First Nations cohort.
