Ms Lyndal Nankervis

Lyndal is an Associate Lecturer in Nursing at Charles Sturt University with extensive experience in nursing, midwifery and clinical education. She holds a Master of Midwifery Studies specialising in Clinical Education and has worked across tertiary education, clinical practice, student facilitation and workforce development. Her clinical career includes roles in maternity services, continuity of midwifery care, clinical midwifery education and eHealth education. In her current role, Lyndal teaches and supports students across all three years of the Bachelor of Nursing, delivering lectures, workshops and simulation-based learning. Her professional interests include clinical education, simulation, student support, clinical reasoning, safe evidence-based practice and the transition from theoretical learning to clinical practice.

Teaches and supports students across all three years of the Bachelor of Nursing program, including lectures, workshops and simulation (SIM) laboratory sessions. Experienced in clinical facilitation, mentoring, supervision and providing tailored education and feedback to support student learning outcomes.

Previous teaching and education experience includes clinical and midwifery education, supporting student midwives and new graduate nurses and midwives, developing and delivering education programs, and facilitating staff training across maternity services and eHealth.

No current research projects or formal research activity, however, professional interests include clinical education, simulation-based learning, student support, clinical reasoning, safe evidence-based practice and the transition from theoretical learning to clinical practice.

Professional activities include student mentoring and clinical facilitation; participation in quality improvement and policy working parties; recruitment and interview panels; development of education and training resources; and contributions to initiatives relating to maternity care, cultural safety, smoking and vaping cessation, bladder management and workforce development.

Awards include Midwife of the Year and Mentor of the Year. Additional credentials include adult and newborn basic life support assessor, ABL90 Flex blood gas analyser super user, and completion of mentor/preceptor, facilitation development, mentor in midwifery and train-the-trainer programs.
