Charissa graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing in 2009 and completed her Graduate Certificate in Intensive Care in 2013. Charissa has been working in Intensive Care since 2009 both in regional and metropolitan hospitals. She proactively engaged in Acting Clinical Nurse Education roles within that department and is also currently working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Albury Wodonga Health’s Critical Care Unit. Charissa’s passion is providing clinical support to her nursing colleagues to support optimising patient care and promoting best patient outcome. Her passion for education translates naturally for Charissa when she joined the academia of Charles Sturt University in teaching nursing undergraduates in 2022 initially as a Sessional Lecturer. She has since been appointed into full-time Associate Lecturer position in 2023. Charissa enjoys interacting with students in their laboratory simulations and in-campus tutorials, and thoroughly encourages students build their knowledge and experience in nursing.
