Wei Wang is a highly experienced Health Information Manager (HIM) with over ten years of expertise across public and private healthcare sectors, as well as government agencies. His extensive background includes clinical coding, classification systems, and hospital funding. Wei previously held the role of the Victorian Coding Auditor and Educator with Ramsay Health Care, overseeing specialised training and auditing statewide and nationally.

Currently, Wei is undertaking his PhD at Charles Sturt University, researching the sustainability of the HIM profession sustainability amidst ongoing digital healthcare transformation. His research investigates the major factors influencing the profession, aiming to develop a normative framework to support future HIM workforce development. Additionally, he coordinates the Digital Health Management subject at Charles Sturt University.

Wei is interested in many areas some of which are;

  • Exploring workforce sustainability in the digital health environment
  • The impact of digital health on health information professional practice

Wei is currently doing his PhD focusing on investigating the sustainability of the Health Information Management profession within Australia.
