BaAppSc: Occupational Therapy, Residency Mental Health, MSc. Dynamics of Health and Welfare, PhD. Health Sciences. Vagner Dos Santos was trained in Occupational Therapy. Early in his career, he contributed to research projects at the National Centre for Guidance and Information on Drugs and received an award from the Brazilian Ministry of Health. He pursed his graduate training in Europe, and obtained a double master’s degrees in health and Society from Linköpings Universitet, Sweden and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona Spain. He has undertaken graduate training (doctoral level) at the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, France and Linköpings Universitet, Sweden before completing his PhD in Health Sciences at the Universidade de Brasília, Brazil. He has received scholarships from the Methodist University, International Fellowships Program - Ford Foundation, European Union. Between 2012 and 2019, he has contributed as Assistant Professor at the Universidade de Brasília, Brazil. In 2019, he joined Charles Sturt University in the School of Allied Health, Exercise and Sports Sciences in Port Macquarie. Dr. Dos Santos has experience teaching at the undergraduate level subjects related to mental health, research methodology, and occupational therapy’s history and epistemology. He has also experience teaching research methodology to graduate students. Dr. Dos Santos interest is to understand the extension of mental health problems, associated factors, consequences at the individual and communitarian level, and mental health policies. He has also engaged in the debate about critical/southern perspectives of care/rehabilitation and social transformative practice.
