An exciting part of the Veterinary Sciences degree involves on the job training through Work Integrated Learning (WIL).

To assist you with your WIL journey, the following tabs contain important information and guides to ensure you are aware of your WIL requirements.

The following indicates your compulsory Work Integrated Learning (WIL) components:

Bachelor of Veterinary Technology (4415VT)

  • ASC183 - Foundations in Veterinary Surgical Nursing (15 days, minimum of 120 hours, 8 hours of contact at the clinic)
  • ASC184 - Applied Veterinary Nursing (15 days, minimum of 120 hours, 8 hours of contact at the clinic)
  • ASC391 - Surgery and Anesthesia Nursing (10 block days, 80 hours minimum)
  • ASC392 - Veterinary Medical Nursing (10 block days, 80 hours minimum)
  • ASC393 - Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Nursing (10 block days, 80 hours minimum))

It is compulsory as a Charles Sturt University student to obtain and maintain specific requirements throughout their degree

Charles Sturt University WIL student placement requirements - Mandatory

Due date for requirements outlined below:

  • Q Fever Vaccination no later than course commencement
  • Tetanus Vaccination – no later than course commencement
  • Uniform - 30 June

Charles Sturt University WIL student placement requirements - Highly Recommended

  • Flu Vaccination each year

Where do I send my  student compliance documentation?

Once student compliance requirements are obtained, submit them by email to FOSH-WPL@csu.edu.au

When sending documents please enter in the email subject line: Student ID / Student Name / Discipline / Compliance
