Kristen is a lecturer of Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University. She came to CSU from a clinical leadership position as a Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist, team leader and student coordinator and has practiced both within Australia and internationally, in the UK and Middle east, as a senior physiotherapist.

Clinically she has worked largely within the public setting, and her experience ranges across adult and paediatric acute care as well as paediatric outpatients. Kristen holds a special interest in acute care paediatrics and has completed a Master of Philosophy investigating the parental experience of physiotherapy in Cystic Fibrosis during infancy. She is currently enrolled in a PhD which is investigating physiotherapy during an exacerbation for people with Cystic Fibrosis.

Kristen has completed the Graduate Certificate of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and has been awarded a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) as recognition of her leadership and influence in higher education practice. Her other professional appointments include being a member of the item writing panel, and being a simulation assessor, for the Australian Physiotherapy Council. Kristen also holds a keen interest in student wellbeing and is an accredited Mental Health first aider.

Kristen is involved in teaching across year levels. Her areas of speciality include cardiorespiratory and paediatric physiotherapy practice. She is involved in curriculum design and development including the use of case based learning and simulation.

Kristen is undertaking a PhD which is investigating physiotherapy during an exacerbation for people with Cystic Fibrosis.
