Isabel completed her physiotherapy training at Charles Sturt University in Albury. Isabel came to CSU from working as a physiotherapist in public and private settings and has worked in many roles at CSU including project management, lecturing in physiotherapy and biomedical science, research and as a Course Director.

Isabel has strong clinical expertise as a rural generalist physiotherapist, still working casually at Northeast Health Wangaratta. Isabel has also worked in healthcare management for a number of years, overseeing community care programs for NSW and Victorian health organisations. Isabel serves as a Board Director for Beechworth Health Service; sits on the accreditation council for the SARRAH Allied Health Rural Generalist Pathway; and is a member of the item writing panel for the Australian Physiotherapy Council.

Isabel has been awarded a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) as recognition of her leadership and influence in higher education practice.

Isabel has taught into and convened many subjects and areas of the physiotherapy course across all years. Isabel has led curriculum and course design and development, particularly in relation to interprofessional and simulation education in the allied health courses.

Isabel completed her Doctor of Philosophy in 2021 exploring ‘The development of allied health student collaborative practice capability in higher education’, presenting and publishing nationally and internationally. Isabel’s ongoing post-doctoral research is based around expanding on her PhD findings and exploring the development of collaborative practice capability in allied health courses, alongside enhancing collaborative practice in healthcare settings.
