Tracey has a long association with Charles Sturt University, dating back to her undergraduate years in the early 2000s where she completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science/Bachelor of Business Studies. She also completed an honours degree in Business marketing in 2013 and a PhD in 2024 which investigated the lived experiences of Indigenous women in Australian rules football and rugby league.
Tracey currently lectures in sociocultural studies in both the undergraduate and masters degrees and has research interests around First Nations women, sport and leadership.

Tracey’s primary teaching areas include:

  • Indigenous Peoples: Sport, Identity and Culture
  • Ethics in Sport
  • Indigenous content in the Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology degree

Research interests include:

  • Indigenous sport
  • Athletes and culture
  • Women’s leadership
