Profile

Michael has over 25 years’ experience in Standard and Latin DanceSport (Ballroom Dancing). He was a DanceSport competitor for 18 years and has over 15 years of coaching experience, training dancers of all ages and at all skill levels. It was Michael’s passion for developing dancers that motivated his academic interest in exercise and movement science. In 2012, Michael completed a Bachelor of Exercises and Sport Science (Honours) at the Australian Catholic University where he graduated with Honours First Class, and was awarded the University and Faculty of Health Sciences medals. Currently, he is studying a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Sydney where he is investigating the link between audiences’ perceived aesthetic experience and coordination and biomechanical motion of dance performers.
