B. Health Science (Speech Pathology) Lisa is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with a range of clinical, academic and research experience. She has worked clinically in a variety of hospital and community settings with both children and adults. Through her academic work, she has contributed to numerous undergraduate and postgraduate subjects within Speech Pathology Programs and the wider School of Allied Health, Exercise and Sports Sciences. Lisa is passionate about excellence in clinical practice, teaching, research and lifelong education. Lisa completed her PhD study in 2015 through her thesis entitled “Investigating potential mechanisms underlying stuttering reduction”. Lisa has contributed to teaching and learning of Speech Pathology students at Charles Sturt University since 2006. She worked as a casual academic from 2006-2012, before becoming a permanent staff member in 2013. Lisa is highly experienced in online and blended learning pedagogies, having been an integral team member in the establishment and ongoing delivery of the blended-online Master of Speech Pathology program. Lisa is an integral member of the Speech Pathology team, who has taught into a variety of subjects over the years. She is passionate teaching students about stuttering management, reflective practice, clinical reasoning, professional issues, and holistic client management. Lisa particularly enjoys involvement with clinical education where students apply theory to practice and develop clinic-based skills ready for their future practice. Lisa has a variety of research interests including, stuttering management, online learning, clinical education, telehealth practice and telesupervision, rural health workforce, and speech pathology services for people in aged-care. Her research vision is to understand and improve the lives of people who are marginalised or disadvantaged by their circumstances which may include health or disability, geographical location, gender, socio-economic factors, socio-cultural factors or a combination of these.
