After completing high school Kate obtained a Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience (Honours) from the University of Sydney in 2010, completing her honours research in veterinary endocrinology and reproduction.

Kate then obtained a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology/Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) from Charles Sturt University in 2016, completing her honours research in equine medicine and pharmacology. This research was published in 2017 and 2018.

Following graduation, Kate completed an internship in equine veterinary medicine, surgery, anaesthesia and diagnostic imaging with REC Equine Specialists, before moving into equine ambulatory practice where she continues to enjoy a thriving veterinary career.

Kate’s passion for investigating poor performance in equine athletes has driven her to complete CPD in equine medicine, lameness, podiatry, endoscopy, and ultrasonography both in Australia and internationally, and Kate is an active member of both the EVA and AAEP.

Kate’s passion for the Australian veterinary industry prompted her to take on the role of Lecturer in Veterinary Technology at Charles Sturt University, where she looks forward to passing on her knowledge and skills to the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Kate will be teaching students within the SAEVS veterinary clinical skills, diagnostic imaging, and clinical pathology.

Kate has published research in veterinary pharmacology.
