Scott graduated at Murdoch University a Veterinary Surgeon in 1988. A single year in pig consultancy was then followed by a number of small animal positions, in Australia and the UK. Scott returned to Murdoch University in 2002 as lecturer in pharmacology, attained his PhD in 2008 before moving to CSU in 2009. One day a week in small animal clinics keeps him in touch with the real veterinary world, lest he be completely be swept away into the research alternative universe.

  • Sustained/controlled drug delivery platforms (liposomes, polymer microspheres and alginate gels) for intra-articular (IA) administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
  • Alginate gel platforms for delivery of NSAIDs, anti-fungals, hyaluronic acid and antibiotics into the eye and peritoneal cavity.
  • Pharmacokinetics of a range of drugs, primarily in the horse.
  • Potential therapeutics for the prevention/treatment of perennial ryegrass staggers (PRGS) in sheep.
  • Stress associated with management procedures in live stock: potential therapeutics for use in ruminants.
  • Multi-modal analgesia in small animals
