John has been a veterinary practitioner in rural NSW for over 30 years with stints in Cootamundra, Cowra, Young and finally in Wagga for the last 16 years. He was engaged in all aspects of mixed rural practice, with a fondness for small animal orthopaedic surgery. He worked for the CSU Vet School from 2008 to 2010 teaching Diagnostic Imaging, gaining membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists by examination in Veterinary Radiology. Moving out of veterinary practice in 2025, he has returned to SAEVS, again teaching Diagnostic Imaging. John also has a strong interest in student development and preparation for their transition into the veterinary world.

John is teaching 4th and 5th year veterinary science students in Diagnostic Imaging (radiography, radiology and ultrasound). Gaining radiology memberships in 2008, he has developed a strong clinical skill in imaging in general practice. John has a strong interest in student and junior vet development and aims to teach with a focus on developing confidence in processes and decision making.
