Dr. Jed Brown completed his PhD in grassland and invasion ecology at the University of Sydney in 2024, focusing on the interactions between invasive plants and other organisms in the environment. His PhD research has significantly contributed to understanding the dynamics of invasive species and their impact on native ecosystems, as well as strategies for managing these invasions.

An experienced ecologist, Jed has worked as an ecological consultant, integrating his expertise with technologies such as drones for fauna and flora surveys. His consultancy work has provided valuable industry insights into the application of technology in ecological research and conservation efforts.

Passionate about working with land management, Dr. Jed aims to achieve desirable outcomes for both the environment and the community. His interests continue to focus on invasive plant interactions, striving to develop practical solutions for managing invasive species.

Currently, Jed is a Lecturer in environmental management at CSU Port Macquarie, where he lectures subjects related to vegetation, statistics and GIS. In this role, he guides students through fundamental concepts of vegetation ecology, remote sensing, experimental design and data analysis, preparing the next generation of environmental scientists.
