Dr Christine Storer

Christine Storer is a senior lecturer in agribusiness at the Wagga Wagga campus teaching accounting, finance, risk, investment, marketing, business planning, commodity trade and pricing.

For the previous 6 years Christine was the Head of School of Agribusiness for Central Regional TAFE (formerly C.Y. O’Connor Institute) and an Adjunct Professor with Charles Sturt University.

Christine has worked internationally as the Managing Director of Asterisk Pty Ltd for over 25 years as an information system analyst, chartered accountant and market researcher. Christine has worked on Boards including the Muresk Old Collegians Association, WAFarmers, the C.Y. O’Connor Institute Governing Council and the Rotary Club of Northam.

She was an Adjunct Professor with Curtin University’s International Institute of Agri-food Security after working at Muresk and the University for over 20 years. For several years she was responsible for the Muresk Institute of Agriculture’s 4 campuses and managing more than 80 staff.

Christine Storer is currently teaching accounting, finance, risk, investment, marketing, business planning, commodity trade and pricing. She has been involved in nearly 30 years of university teaching of business planning, law, tax, accounting, commodity trade, marketing, research, extension, food chains and information systems.

Her teaching approach is practically applied with use of real cases, guest speakers and linking teaching into assessment tasks. Where possible students choose assessments to tailor learning to areas of interest. A diverse range of teaching materials and delivery methods are used to cater for diverse student preferences.

Evaluating organic fertiliser economic feasibility and benefits - Soil CRC 2023-2025 with Charles Sturt University, the Department of Primary Industry NSW, Soils for Life and Holbrook Landcare Network.

Long-term trials of drought resilient farming practices economics - Future Drought Fund 2023 -2027with Charles Sturt University, Farmlink, Irrrigation Farmers Network, Central West Farming Systems, Southern Growers, Holbrook Landcare Network and Riverine Plains.

Accelerating the application of all the Soil CRC outputs 2024-2026 with Farming Systems Group, West Midlands Group, Central West Farming Sytems, Birchip Cropping Group, Burdekin Ag Services and Southern Cross University.

Economic and social benefits of regenerative farming - Soil CRC 2024-2025 with Charles Sturt University, Harper Adams University, Federation University and Soils for Life.

Generation Z university student learning preferences 2022-2024 with Charles Sturt University.

Christine has worked with agribusiness industry in Australia and overseas to solve real problems and come up with practical solutions in over 80 research projects. Research has focused on understanding end consumers and customers through the food chain as well as coordination of multiple organisations. She has supervised more than 20 post graduate students. As leader of the Resilience Evaluation Research Strategy Team responsible for the research on the Farm Business Resilience project with WA farmers, awards were won – Science Communication Initiative of the Year in 2011, the Economic Development Australia Award in 2012 and Curtin University Vice Chancellor’s Award of Excellence and Innovation in 2012.
