BSc (Paris), MSc (Bordeaux), PhD (CSU)

Lecturer in Plant Science
Wagga Wagga
Building 404, Room 227

Dr Aude Gourieroux obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Lycee Marcellin Berthelot in France, then a first Master of Science degree in Agriculture with a major in viticulture and oenology at SupAgro Bordeaux and a second Master of Science degree in viticulture and oenology from Universite Victor Segalen (Bordeaux, France). She then moved to Australia for her PhD study at Charles Sturt University on grapevine physiology in collaboration with NSW DPI, where she investigated the “bunchstem development in Vitis vinifera L.: Links to berry ripening and composition”.

After completing her PhD, she continued working on various research projects involving viticulture and winemaking, as well as physiology and pathology of different perennial plants

Dr Aude Gourieroux is passionate about science education and has been involved in teaching for over 10 years in a wide range of subjects encompassing the fields of wine science, viticulture, biology and microbiology. Her teaching delivery includes on-campus and on-line student cohorts of varying sizes.

She has thoroughly enjoyed passing on her extensive viticultural knowledge to her students.

Dr Aude Gourieroux’s research interests focus on grapevine physiology and its effects on wine quality.

She has been involved in research projects investigating the influence of flower numbers and hormone applications on the development of grape bunches, as well as the effects of viticultural practices on the development of wine flavours in Semillon grapes in the Hunter Valley and the Riverina.

Dr Aude Gourieroux is currently collaborating with Professor Chris Steel and Dr Lachlan Schwarz on a rapid test to detect Botrytis in grape and wine, in relation with the wine industry.

Aude is currently seeking research opportunities and partnerships.
