Emily obtained first class Honours in 2023 for her research project which involved the development of a low fidelity canine castration model for use in the small animal veterinary surgical curriculum at CSU. Through this project she ascertained that student learning outcomes were improved if they were involved in the model construction process prior to learning the surgical procedure.

Emily is currently undertaking a PhD with her research focusing on model based collaborative learning in veterinary and human health disciplines within rural and regional undergraduate institutions.
