David has 30 years experience in Agricultural Value Chains from various public and private sector management and national R&D leadership positions.

David has worked across all sectors of the value chain from "paddock to plate" at industry and enterprise levels. Prior to his tertiary education, David spent 10 years in sheep, beef and deer farming and live export in New Zealand and Australia.

Following university, he led a semi-arid zone livestock production system research program for the QDPI. David has managed various on and off farm R&D programs for Meat & Livestock Australia including the Southern Beef and Goat R, D&E portfolios and has provided multi-disciplinary agricultural and environmental consultancy services to agribusinesses across southern Australia.

Immediately prior to joining CSU, David spent 2 years in Africa as Chief Executive Officer, restructuring a State Owned Enterprise processing and exporting beef to the EU.

Professor Falepau looks after the Bachelor of Agricultural Business Management degree at CSU and teaches into many of the subjects in particular first and final year subjects.

Professor Falepau leads a number of projects building innovation capability, systems and culture in Agribusiness.  Most recently his research interest is in Pacific Island Country (PIC) agricultural development, particularly in his homeland of Samoa
