BHlthSc (Pre-Hospital Care); GradCert EmergServicesEd; GradCert Research; MHlthSc (Education) PhD Lisa Clegg is a registered paramedic who has worked in health care since 1980. As a registered nurse, Lisa worked in several different areas including intensive care and aged care. From 1998 - 2009 Lisa was employed with Ambulance Tasmania in the roles of a paramedic, intensive care paramedic, and paramedic educator. Whilst employed as a paramedic educator, Lisa was appointed as a Clinical Senior Lecturer with the University of Tasmania (UTAS) and worked alongside UTAS academics to develop and deliver the Associate Degree in Paramedicine. In 2009 Lisa was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Paramedicine at UTAS and was part of a team that developed and delivered the Bachelor of Paramedic Practice (BPP). Lisa was the Course Coordinator for the BPP for two years. In 2016, Lisa was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) and was the program coordinator for the Bachelor of Paramedic Science (BPS) for four years. In 2021, Lisa was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Paramedicine at Charles Sturt University. Lisa has extensive experience in paramedic education and has coordinated several subjects including cardiovascular and respiratory emergencies, medical emergencies, toxicology, and envenomation, trauma care in out-of-hospital practice, mental health care in out-of-hospital practice, and environmental emergencies in out of hospital practice. Lisa completed her PhD in 2019 exploring mental health care in the out-of-hospital setting. Lisa’s interest in mental health care has also led to research in suicide awareness and training programs for health professional students, and current projects in mental health first aid training for paramedic students, and the wellbeing of paramedics and paramedic students.Paramedicine
