My name is Dan and I am a new Paramedic Lecturer at CSU. I have just moved over from the UK with my wife and young family and look forward to the challenge of teaching in Australia.

I joined the London Ambulance Service in 2006 where I worked as an ambulance technician and a Paramedic. I later joined South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) to train as a Paramedic Practitioner. During this time I completed advanced training in managing illness and injuries in the community, with the ultimate aim within the ambulance service to reduce hospital admissions. I made the daunting decision to leave Secamb 4 years ago and took up a post as a Paramedic Practitioner within a GP surgery. Here I worked alongside GP’s and other health care professionals treating mostly infections and managing minor illness and injuries. I went on to complete my training in Independent Prescribing and was amongst the second cohort of Paramedics in the UK to complete this course. I have also completed a degree in Health Care Practice and enjoy all aspects of being a Paramedic.
