Dr Michelle Kang is an Oral Medicine Specialist and Senior Lecturer in Dentistry (Oral Medicine/Oral Pathology) at the School of Dentistry and Medical Sciences, Charles SturtUniversity. She is also a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (Specialist Dental Practice discipline of Oral Medicine).
Growing up in New Zealand, she completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Otago in 2011. She received multiple research scholarships and travel grants to represent the university at research competitions, including IADR ANZ (2010) and ADA Dental Congress (2011). Following graduation, she worked as a general dentist in public and private clinics throughout regional and metropolitan NSW. She also worked as a clinical tutor at Charles Sturt University Dental and Oral Health Clinic.
Michelle completed her specialist training through the University of Sydney and graduated with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Oral Medicine). During her specialist training, she completed research on health professionals' perceptions and clinical manifestations of chemotherapy and radiation therapy-related oral and oropharyngeal mucositis. Michelle has multiple publications in international peer-reviewed journals and is a reviewer for the European Journal of Dental Education.
